Stracta Hotel in Hella was founded by father and son, Hreiðar Hermannsson and Hermann Hreiðarsson who are the pioneers and driving force behind the hotel. The concept is based on the premise that hotel accommodation is currently scarce in some key locations in Iceland, thereby limiting options for potential visitors to see what Iceland has to offer. It is one of the main aims of Stracta Hotel to provide diverse accommodation options for visitors to Iceland and hence enhance the visitors' experience.

Stracta Hotel Hella is located about an hours drive from Reykjavík and is therefore close to all the major attractions found near the south coast of Iceland, such as Geysir, Gullfoss, Þingvellir, Eyjafjallafjökull, Seljalandsfoss, Þórsmörk, Landmannalaugar, Vestmannaeyjar, Skógafoss and many more stunning natural wonders.
